Turn Your Spring Cleaning Into Community Impact

img des: a graphic of a bottle with a recycling symbol

Spring is the perfect time to declutter your home and refresh your space. As you sort through closets, garages, and storage rooms, do not forget about those empty bottles and cans taking up space.

Instead of hauling them to the depot yourself, turn your spring cleaning into meaningful community impact by donating your bottles to Distress Centre Calgary through SkipTheDepot.

SkipTheDepot makes it simple. Schedule a pickup from your home, and their team will collect your bottles and return them to the depot on your behalf. The refund is then donated directly to DCC.

Here is how it works:

• Visit the SkipTheDepot website or download the app on iPhone or Android
• Enter your details and use promo code DONATEDISTRESSCENTRE at the bottom of the form so DCC receives the full refund
• Schedule your pick up
• Select Distress Centre Calgary as your chosen charity
• SkipTheDepot collects your bottles and takes them to the depot
• DCC receives the donation

It is one of the easiest ways to support mental health and crisis services in our community. As an added bonus, you will receive a charitable tax receipt for your SkipTheDepot donations to us throughout the year.

Clear out your space. Reduce waste. Support life saving services. That is spring cleaning that truly makes a difference.

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, Distress Centre Calgary would like to honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis, and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Otipemisiwak Métis Government of the Métis Nation within Alberta Districts 5 and 6. Finally, we acknowledge all Nations – Indigenous and non – who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory.
