Q3 Impact Report: The Power of Your Support

This fall, more than 39,000 contacts were made across all our programs, a clear sign of the growing need for support as we approach the holiday season.

Because of you, we were able to sustain a 41% increase in crisis contacts and an 88% increase in ConnecTeen contacts. Your generosity ensured that anyone in need of compassionate connection and care could reach someone, any day, any time, this past quarter.

Among the thousands of people you helped are a young woman who felt acceptance for the first time when she called Distress Centre Calgary, and a brother who found the resources he needed to help his younger sister living in a home affected by domestic violence. You can find their full stories below.

These are just two of the 39,000 connections made possible from July to September. Your donations ensured that no one had to face their hardest moments alone.

Thanks to you, 39,000 people found a moment of light to keep them going.

Read our Q3 Impact Report to see how your support continues to strengthen our community.

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, Distress Centre Calgary would like to honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis, and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Otipemisiwak Métis Government of the Métis Nation within Alberta Districts 5 and 6. Finally, we acknowledge all Nations – Indigenous and non – who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory.
